Blythwood Out of the Cold Program

Fairlawn Embrace Action Fund

Blythwood Out of the Cold – Every Saturday evening, from the beginning of November to the end of March, Blythwood Baptist volunteers provide a safe, warm place to stay overnight, two full meals (dinner and breakfast), and acceptance and compassion. Through this program, they provide not only food and shelter but a welcome fellowship.

Rationale for supporting Blythwood Out of the Cold

  • The work that Out of the Cold does is aligned with our “Embrace Action” vision to provide symptomatic relief and support to those whose lives are precarious.
  • Fairlawn’s financial contribution will be significant to the overall budget, funding at least four meals.
  • It is a local program that has already attracted Fairlawn volunteers.
  • We hope to deepen our volunteer experience over time, possibly providing & serving a meal.

On behalf of our volunteers and guests, I would like to thank you for the generous donation from Fairlawn to our Out of the Cold program. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, we could not run this program without the help and support of churches such as yours. You have no idea how much we are encouraged by the interest and generousity coming our way as we open our doors again for the 25th season. As for your people taking a more active role in volunteering, we would be delighted to welcome them.
Many, many thanks,
Dennis Bruce, Co-Chair, Blythwood Out of the Cold program
