We need your blankets!
Do you have blankets that you no longer need? Kairos has had an overwhelming response to their Blanket Exercise, with 250 sessions in 10 weeks, and therefore the need for more blankets.
If you have spare blankets to share for use in the Kairos blanket exercise, please see Erika Boone at the Fairlawn Truth and Reconciliation table at coffee hour in April. We will see that they are delivered to Kairos.
The Kairos Blanket Exercise is a participatory exercise to build understanding about our shared history as Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples in Canada. Everyone is actively involved as they step onto blankets that represent the land, and into the role of First Nations, Inuit and later Métis peoples. By engaging on an emotional and intellectual level, group participants learn history and gain new understanding and empathy.
It will help Kairos to meet the needs in Ontario to provide this workshop for participants (in schools, churches, government offices, and other venues). For more information on this exercise, please go to:
