Indian Horse, an adaptation of Ojibway writer Richard Wagamese’s award-winning novel, sheds light on the dark history of Canada’s residential schools and the indomitable spirit of Indigenous people. In 1950s Ontario, six-year-old Saul Indian Horse is torn from his family and forced into a residential school. He finds salvation in hockey. The story is one of loss and fear, but also of hope and resilience.

Watch Indian Horse ahead of time on CBC Gem, and join in a discussion hosted by Jan Schlee.
