The Christmas season can be far from the most wonderful time of the year for those experiencing grief, loss, or hardship. Typical holiday festivities – singing carols, decorating, gathering with family, and buying gifts – usually emphasize joy and cheer, leaving little room for grief and pain. This year, we know there is even more of both as we contemplate our losses , both during the pandemic and in this season of limited gathering with friends and loved ones.

We are offering this online interactive service on Zoom this year for all of those who may be finding this season sad, trying, or just difficult in which to find joy. 

This Blue Christmas or Longest Night, service, offers a gentle, serene space for us to gather online. The service is, symbolically, held on or near winter solstice, the longest night of the year.
