Please join us on April 29th as we continue down the path of learning Truth and practicing Reconciliation. This will be a unique 2-Part service. Part 1 will be a shortened 30-minute service with indigenous content that will then transition downstairs to Part 2 with Kairos facilitators leading the Blanket Exercise in the Assembly Hall. The full service will end with a Closing Hymn and Benediction following the Blanket Exercise. You are welcome to leave following the first part of the service, but we hope you will stay! For those who cannot stand for the Blanket Exercise, we will have seating available around the perimeter of the Assembly Hall if you would like to observe and listen.
The Blanket Exercise https://www.kairosblanketexercise.org is a teaching tool used to share the historic and contemporary relationship between Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples in Canada. It is an interactive learning experience that aims to cover over 500 years of history in a participatory workshop. Children will stay in church for Part 1 and move to Spirit Space for Part 2. This experience is designed for older elementary and high school students.
