It’s Camp Scugog Sunday. We’re creating beautiful opportunities for children! Help us send as many children as possible to camp this summer.
We’re raising awareness in the month of April at Coffee Hour, and on Camp Scugog Sunday (May 3), for this wonderful camp that supports children and families. There will be a guest speaker during the church service, camp-related activities with Spirit Space, and the ever-popular Scugog Craft Shack and Making Sweet Things Happen Bake Sale.
The gift of camp helps change lives by providing children, youth and mothers with an escape from the city and the opportunity to experience joy as well as growth through new experiences and challenges. Camp Scugog is designed to address the needs of new Canadians and those affected by poverty and other barriers.
Here’s how you can help send more kids to camp this summer:
We welcome financial donations.
You may donate financially in one of these ways:
Back by popular demand, our “Making Sweet Things Happen” Bake Sale will be in operation again at Coffee Hour.
You will be contacted prior to the bake sale with all the details, and please be prepared to package all your baking ready to sell.
We will have everything you need to be ready for Mother’s Day:
And speaking of delight, think of the delight experienced by those young campers and their moms who get to escape the city for some much needed fun, and to feel the joy and companionship of camping in nature, thanks to your kind generosity.
Pick up a beautifully wrapped Mother’s Day gift pack for $20, or select each individually priced item.
The Fairlawn congregation and friends and family are invited to participate in the Camp Cleanup Day. Help prepare Camp Scugog for the upcoming summer by dusting off the cobwebs and opening shutters on their 300+ acre facility. The camp will provide cleaning supplies, refreshments and snacks and lunch.
Hop on the Fairlawn bus and enjoy the ride to and from the camp. Adults $5, children and youth ride for free. Our bus leaves the church on Saturday at 9:00 am sharp and returns by 4:30 pm. Visit the Camp Scugog table at coffee hour to sign up,
Please print, sign and deliver the following waivers for you and/or your child:
As Dana Leahey, Camp Director has said, “It’s the people like you that make Camp Scugog such an incredible place. Without your ongoing support, our special place on the shores of Lake Scugog would not be possible.”
Read about Camp Scugog from their website. Camp Scugog offers an outdoor camping experience for children, youth and mothers.
Help us change lives one camper at a time.
