Confirmation is the primary way that people become members of the church (specifically, their local congregation). Confirmation is not a graduation; rather, it gives us a chance to affirm our baptism, learn about our faith, discern our gifts for leadership and service, and become full members of the Fairlawn Avenue United Church community.
Confirmation classes are for those in grade 9 and up. Classes begin in late February and run until mid-May on Sundays after church, with the Confirmation service in the spring.
This is an opportunity to learn more about Christianity and the church, try out different leadership roles, and to discern and decide if you would like to become a member by being confirmed.
If you are interested in the Confirmation classes at Fairlawn, please speak with the Minister of Children and Youth.
Note: There is no need to decide now if you will eventually want to be confirmed.
