    The Senior Choir of Fairlawn Avenue United Church is an auditioned group of approximately 35 members, including an 8-member professional core. The Seniors sing every Sunday from September through June at the 10:30am worship service, and are responsible for an introit, two anthems and all other service music. The Senior Choir practice weekly on Thursday evenings at 7:15pm - 9:00pm in the Sanctuary.

    Quarterly online meeting of Fairlawn's Governing Council. Governing Council – Vacancies Governing Council is the body of volunteers elected by the Congregation to ensure that the Mission /Call expressed by the congregation is fulfilled in diverse and effective ways , and that the operations of Fairlawn Avenue United Church are carried out responsibly and in support of that Mission.  The full Governing Council meet approximately four times per year. We’re seeking several Fairlawners who believe in the work of our church community and want to help shape that vision. Might you be interested in being part of Fairlawn’s council? Do you have some leadership or personnel experience to offer to the church? Would you consider co-chairing with a friend? There will be lots of support from the current chairs and from the ongoing team. The knitters work on their own time on these cozy, warm shawls that serve as a tangible reminder that one is not alone. Land Acknowledgement. Fairlawn acknowledges the sacred land on which our church stands. It has been a site of human activity for 15,000 years. This land is the territory of the Huron, Anishinaabe and Haudenosaunee, and most recently, the Mississaugas of the New Credit River. The territory was the subject of the Dish With One Spoon Wampum Belt Covenant, an agreement between the Iroquois Confederacy and Confederacy of the Ojibwe and allied nations to peaceably share and care for the resources around the Great Lakes. Today, the meeting place of Toronto is still home to many Indigenous people from across Turtle Island, and we are grateful to have the opportunity to work in the community, on this territory. We are also mindful of broken covenants and the need to strive to make right with all our relations. The original nations continue to cry out for justice. As treaty people, we commit to listen, learn, and work toward justice and reconciliation.
