COMET: A Drop-in Program for 2SLGBTQIA+ Youth COMET (Come Out & Meet Each Tuesday) is a free after-school drop-in program for 2SLGBTQIA+ youth ages 13-18 in North Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area. Questioning youth and allied friends are also welcome. COMET program activities include arts and crafts, games, cooking, creative workshops, and more. Dinner and snacks are provided at no cost. When? Tuesdays from 3:30pm to 8:30pm. Where? 28 Fairlawn Ave., Toronto, ON West off Yonge St., a 7-minute walk north from Lawrence TTC Station. Participants are invited to use the west accessible main lobby entrance to access the Assembly Hall downstairs. Why? Because every queer and questioning youth needs a fun and safe place to be themself. What is COMET All About? The program provides youth who identify as part of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community a safe and welcoming place to gather, eat a nutritious meal, participate in programming through partner organizations, or just come by to hang out
Governing Council is the body of volunteers elected by the Community of Faith to ensure that the Fairlawn Forward Mission expressed by the Community of Faith is fulfilled in diverse and effective ways , and that the operations of Fairlawn Avenue United Church are carried out responsibly and in support of that Mission. Wednesdays at 7:30pm to 9:00pm, we gather online for Christian Meditation. This group is open to anyone who is interested in Meditation at any level, or are curious. All are welcome. JANUARY 15, 2026 -> Due to the winter storm and to ensure the safety of all, Choir has been cancelled this evening. The Senior Choir of Fairlawn Avenue United Church is an auditioned group of approximately 35 members, including an 8-member professional core. The Seniors sing every Sunday from September through June at the 10:30 am worship service, and are responsible for an introit, two anthems and all other service music. In order to cover that amount and level of music, often with a minimum of rehearsal time, choristers must have singing experience and excellent music/sight-reading skills. Practice is weekly on Thursday evenings.
Worship service at Fairlawn Avenue United Church are on Sunday mornings in our Sanctuary with Rev. Dr. Cameron Watts, Eleanor Daley, Director of Music and the Fairlawn Avenue Senior Choir. Enjoy a cup of coffee or tea, in our post-service Coffee Hour in the sanctuary – we encourage you to bring your own mug! Coffee Hour provides an important opportunity for people to connect with one another, Experience Belonging, welcome visitors and guests, and feel part of Fairlawn. If you’d like to revisit any of our worship services, curated musical offerings and service bulletins, they are posted online on our website worship page.

The (ES) Explore Spirituality Council will meet online on the fourth Tuesday of each month (November - June) from 4:00pm - 5:00pm. Join us for our worship service outside on the lawn as we celebrate the Blessing of the Animals. All pets are welcome but to keep them safe, please ensure dogs are leashed, cats are in carriers and other pets are suitably contained.
