The Senior Choir of Fairlawn Avenue United Church is an auditioned group of approximately 35 members, including an 8-member professional core. The Senior Choir sing every Sunday from September through June at the 10:30 am worship service, and are responsible for an introit, two anthems and all other service music. In order to cover that amount and level of music, often with a minimum of rehearsal time, choristers must have singing experience and excellent music/sight-reading skills. Practice is weekly on Thursday evenings, September 10, 2026 through May 27, 2027.
This Committee meet approx. every 6 weeks September through June. The work of the Human Resources and Relationships Council (formerly Ministry & Personnel) is consultative and focused on supporting and maintaining an open and healthy relationship between staff and members of the congregation. We have 2 women’s spirituality groups where women meet monthly to contemplate life’s questions and support each other. Women’s Spirituality Group II meet in-person the third Tuesday of each month (September – June) from 1:00pm – 2:30pm in the Chapel. Please note, on accasion, the group meet off-site. Breast Friends – Cancer Support Group Women who have breast cancer, or have survived it, meet the fourth Monday of the month (September - June) on Zoom from 10:30am to 11:30am for information sharing, encouragement, fitness ideas and some fun social events. The group provides a supportive environment with women who understand this journey. It is open to anyone from the church or community who would like to join.
