The Senior Choir of Fairlawn Avenue United Church is an auditioned group of approximately 35 members, including an 8-member professional core. The Seniors sing every Sunday from September through June at the 10:30 am worship service, and are responsible for an introit, two anthems and all other service music. In order to cover that amount and level of music, often with a minimum of rehearsal time, choristers must have singing experience and excellent music/sight-reading skills. Practice is weekly on Thursday evenings, September through May.

Enjoy a cup of coffee or tea, in our post-service Coffee Hour in the sanctuary – we encourage you to bring your own mug! Coffee Hour provides an important opportunity for people to connect with one another, Experience Belonging, welcome visitors and guests, and feel part of Fairlawn. We have 2 women’s spirituality groups where women meet monthly to contemplate life’s questions and support each other. Women’s Spirituality Group II meet in-person the third Tuesday of each month (September – June) from 1:00pm – 2:30pm in the Chapel. Please note, on accasion, the group meet off-site. Pastoral Visitation Team Meeting Our pastoral visitation ministry provides support and compassion for those who may occasionally experience difficulty in their lives and supports our senior members when they can no longer regularly attend church. We send cards and flowers and keep them connected to Fairlawn through phone calls and personal visits. Breast Friends – Cancer Support Group Women who have breast cancer, or have survived it, meet the fourth Monday of the month (September - June) on Zoom from 10:30am to 11:30am for information sharing, encouragement, fitness ideas and some fun social events. The group provides a supportive environment with women who understand this journey. It is open to anyone from the church or community who would like to join.
