April 27 is Earth Day Sunday for Fairlawn, and it is "Unplugged Sunday". We will use as little electricity as possible. There will be no screens, coffee or tea, only cold drinks. We encourage you to use as little energy as you can that day. Carpool, bike, walk or take the TTC to church. Cook your Sunday meals on Saturday. Be creative while we are mindful on the Sunday of Creation Care.
Prayer Shawl Ministry The Prayer Shawl Ministry knitters meet monthly offsite from September to June to knit and chat. Prayer shawls are offered to Fairlawn members, family and friends in need of support and comfort, or to celebrate a special occasion. The knitters work on their own time on these cozy, warm shawls that serve as a tangible reminder that we are not alone. Please contact Jan Schlee at ac.de1793995708tinue1793995708uneva1793995708nwalr1793995708iaf@l1793995708wahsr1793995708eyarp1793995708 if you would like to participate in this Ministry or if you know of someone who would appreciate receiving a shawl.
As part of our work to help homeless people, once again we will be creating "Welcome Home Baskets" to help shelter residents transition to permanent housing. Items we are looking for include cooking essentials, cleaning materials, and bedding. There will be a table in the main lobby to drop off items between 10:00am - 12:00pm on Sunday, May 4, 11, 18, and 25. Thank you for sharing your love with our neighbours who are moving out of shelters.
