    Breast Friends – Cancer Support Group Women who have breast cancer, or have survived it, meet the fourth Monday of the month (September - June) on Zoom from 10:30am to 11:30am for information sharing, encouragement, fitness ideas and some fun social events.     COMET: A Drop-in Program for 2SLGBTQIA+ Youth COMET (Come Out & Meet Each Tuesday) is a free after-school drop-in program for 2SLGBTQIA+ youth ages 13-18 in North Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area. Questioning youth and allied friends are also welcome. COMET program activities include arts and crafts, games, cooking, creative workshops, and more. Dinner and snacks are provided at no cost. When? Tuesdays from 3:30pm to 8:30pm. Where? 28 Fairlawn Ave., Toronto, ON West off Yonge St., a 7-minute walk north from Lawrence TTC Station. Participants are invited to use the west accessible main lobby entrance to access the Assembly Hall downstairs. Why? Because every queer and questioning youth needs a fun and safe place to be themself. What is COMET All About? The program provides youth who identify as part of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community a safe and welcoming place to gather, eat a nutritious meal, participate in programming through partner organizations, or just come by to hang out

    The Embrace Action (EA) Fund supports organizations whose work is consistent with our social outreach vision of poverty reduction. We focus our financial aid on groups with whom we hope to deepen our relationship and broaden our support over time. The United Church of Canada’s Creed calls us to love and serve others and seek justice. Fairlawn’s vision is to build that compassion and understanding by personally engaging with those who are marginalized. Thus, our EA Fund focuses on activities for which it can not only provide financial aid, but also opportunities where Fairlawn members can be personally involved. Our EA Fund lay ministry team researches organizations and choses partners, after it: • assesses how closely their work aligns with Fairlawn’s poverty reduction goal, and • identifies ways that congregants can become more closely connected. Our partners’ representatives occasionally speak at Fairlawn worship services to share what they’re doing and how we can become more involved with their work.     Fairlawn Senior Choir Practice

    JANUARY 15, 2026 ->  Due to the winter storm and to ensure the safety of all, Choir has been cancelled this evening. The Senior Choir of Fairlawn Avenue United Church is an auditioned group of approximately 35 members, including an 8-member professional core. The Seniors sing every Sunday from September through June at the 10:30 am worship service, and are responsible for an introit, two anthems and all other service music. In order to cover that amount and level of music, often with a minimum of rehearsal time, choristers must have singing experience and excellent music/sight-reading skills. Practice is weekly on Thursday evenings.
