COMET: A Drop-in Program for 2SLGBTQIA+ Youth COMET (Come Out & Meet Each Tuesday) is a free after-school drop-in program for 2SLGBTQIA+ youth ages 13-18 in North Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area. Questioning youth and allied friends are also welcome. COMET program activities include arts and crafts, games, cooking, creative workshops, and more. Dinner and snacks are provided at no cost. When? Tuesdays from 3:30pm to 8:30pm. Where? 28 Fairlawn Ave., Toronto, ON West off Yonge St., a 7-minute walk north from Lawrence TTC Station. Participants are invited to use the west accessible main lobby entrance to access the Assembly Hall downstairs. Why? Because every queer and questioning youth needs a fun and safe place to be themself. What is COMET All About? The program provides youth who identify as part of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community a safe and welcoming place to gather, eat a nutritious meal, participate in programming through partner organizations, or just come by to hang out
This Committee meet approx. every 6 weeks September through June. The work of the Human Resources and Relationships Council (formerly Ministry & Personnel) is consultative and focused on supporting and maintaining an open and healthy relationship between staff and members of the congregation. The Senior Choir of Fairlawn Avenue United Church is an auditioned group of approximately 35 members, including an 8-member professional core. The Senior Choir sing every Sunday from September through June at the 10:30 am worship service, and are responsible for an introit, two anthems and all other service music. In order to cover that amount and level of music, often with a minimum of rehearsal time, choristers must have singing experience and excellent music/sight-reading skills. Practice is weekly on Thursday evenings, September 10, 2026 through May 27, 2027.

By wearing an orange shirt on Sunday, September 27, you make a statement to support truth & reconciliation and commit to the enduring truth that “EVERY CHILD MATTERS” We invite you to join us Sunday mornings at 10:30am for a meaningful time of worship and community. Breast Friends – Cancer Support Group Women who have breast cancer, or have survived it, meet the fourth Monday of the month (September - June) on Zoom from 10:30am to 11:30am for information sharing, encouragement, fitness ideas and some fun social events. The group provides a supportive environment with women who understand this journey. It is open to anyone from the church or community who would like to join.
