Helping Hands Following the worship service, you are invited to come down to the Assembly Hall kitchen to help make sandwiches for the Community Food Program at Saint Luke’s. Spread the word! Grab your kids, grandkids, friends and neighbours and join us on the lawn of the church for Carols Around the Crèche on Sunday, November 29 at 4:45pm to 5:30pm. This outdoor carol sing and lighting of the nativity crèche helps us mark the first Sunday of Advent in our North Toronto community. Hot chocolate and good cheer will be served. We invite you to support Fairlawn’s Annual Red Door Holiday Gift Drive with donations of new unwrapped gifts for children to age 13, new children’s winter clothing (coats, snowpants, boots, hats, scarves and mittens), grocery gift cards or cash donations.

COMET: A Drop-in Program for 2SLGBTQIA+ Youth COMET (Come Out & Meet Each Tuesday) is a free after-school drop-in program for 2SLGBTQIA+ youth ages 13-18 in North Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area. Questioning youth and allied friends are also welcome. COMET program activities include arts and crafts, games, cooking, creative workshops, and more. Dinner and snacks are provided at no cost. When? Tuesdays from 3:30pm to 8:30pm. Where? 28 Fairlawn Ave., Toronto, ON West off Yonge St., a 7-minute walk north from Lawrence TTC Station. Participants are invited to use the west accessible main lobby entrance to access the Assembly Hall downstairs. Why? Because every queer and questioning youth needs a fun and safe place to be themself. What is COMET All About? The program provides youth who identify as part of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community a safe and welcoming place to gather, eat a nutritious meal, participate in programming through partner organizations, or just come by to hang out
This Committee meet approx. every 6 weeks September through June. The work of the Human Resources and Relationships Council (formerly Ministry & Personnel) is consultative and focused on supporting and maintaining an open and healthy relationship between staff and members of the congregation. The Senior Choir of Fairlawn Avenue United Church is an auditioned group of approximately 35 members, including an 8-member professional core. The Senior Choir sing every Sunday from September through June at the 10:30 am worship service, and are responsible for an introit, two anthems and all other service music. In order to cover that amount and level of music, often with a minimum of rehearsal time, choristers must have singing experience and excellent music/sight-reading skills. Practice is weekly on Thursday evenings, September 10, 2026 through May 27, 2027.
We invite you to join us Sunday mornings at 10:30am for a meaningful time of worship and community. The services are delivered by Rev. Jean Ward; Rev. Nigel Weaver; Eleanor Daley, Director of Music; and the Fairlawn Senior Choir. After the service, please stay and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee at our Coffee Hour, supported by volunteers from our community of faith, for a welcoming time to connect with friends, greet visitors, and share in meaningful conversation.
