We will gather Sundays summer worship starting June 29 through September 6 at 10:30am in the Assembly Hall with Rev. Jean Ward, Rev. Nigel Weaver; inspiring music by Eleanor Daley, Director of Music; Guest Pianist Doreen Uren Simmons; and Fairlawn Avenue Senior Choir section lead soloists. Doors will open at 10:00am with cold beverages available before, during and after service. Reminder – the Assembly Hall is cooler than our Sanctuary, but is not air conditioned, so we encourage you bring your own cup or water bottle and fill up on lemonade or iced tea!
Conversations Under the Trees with Rev. Jean Ward On Fairlawn’s front lawn in the softness of a summer's afternoon, you are invited to drop by and join conversation. 3:00pm - 4:00pm Thursday, July 30 and Tuesday, August 11 & 25. It is a good place to be together – in the neighbourhood where we find ourselves as a faith community, sheltered by the strength of trees and in the presence of a vibrant city. The Senior Choir of Fairlawn Avenue United Church is an auditioned group of approximately 35 members, including an 8-member professional core. The Senior Choir sing every Sunday from September through June at the 10:30 am worship service, and are responsible for an introit, two anthems and all other service music. In order to cover that amount and level of music, often with a minimum of rehearsal time, choristers must have singing experience and excellent music/sight-reading skills. Practice is weekly on Thursday evenings, September 10, 2026 through June 17, 2027.
We invite you to join us Sunday mornings at 10:30am for a meaningful time of worship and community. The services are delivered by Rev. Jean Ward; Rev. Nigel Weaver; Eleanor Daley, Director of Music; and the Fairlawn Senior Choir. After the service, please stay and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee at our Coffee Hour, supported by volunteers from our community of faith, for a welcoming time to connect with friends, greet visitors, and share in meaningful conversation.
