    Field Trip to the ROM ~ Death : Life’s Greatest Mystery

    Participate in Fairlawn's Field Trip to the ROM's  "Death : Life's Greatest Mystery" special exhibit on Wednesday March 20. The plan for the morning is to meet at the entrance of the ROM at 10:00am, then proceed to the self guided exhibit as a group. Approximately one hour would be a good amount of time to explore, before we head to the ROM Druxy's Cafe where we will find a space to chat and have, no doubt, a lively discussion.

    Prayer Shawl Ministry Gathering

    The Prayer Shawl Ministry knitters meet the third Wednesday of every month at 1:00pm to 2:00pm online to knit and chat. Prayer shawls are offered to Fairlawn members, family and friends in need of support and comfort, or to celebrate a special occasion. The knitters work on their own time on these cozy, warm shawls that serve as a tangible reminder that one is not alone.     We're Taking a break in August The building will be closed from August 1 to September 4 (inclusive) for staff vacations and scheduled maintenance. During this period, there will be no in-person or online worship services at Fairlawn. We encourage you to attend one of our North Toronto Cluster churches – both Lawrence Park Community Church and Manor Road United will hold services through August.   If you'd like to revisit any of Fairlawn's past online services, you can find them on our website worship page and YouTube channel.

Land Acknowledgement. Fairlawn acknowledges the sacred land on which our church stands. It has been a site of human activity for 15,000 years. This land is the territory of the Huron, Anishinaabe and Haudenosaunee, and most recently, the Mississaugas of the New Credit River. The territory was the subject of the Dish With One Spoon Wampum Belt Covenant, an agreement between the Iroquois Confederacy and Confederacy of the Ojibwe and allied nations to peaceably share and care for the resources around the Great Lakes. Today, the meeting place of Toronto is still home to many Indigenous people from across Turtle Island, and we are grateful to have the opportunity to work in the community, on this territory. We are also mindful of broken covenants and the need to strive to make right with all our relations. The original nations continue to cry out for justice. As treaty people, we commit to listen, learn, and work toward justice and reconciliation.
