COMET: A Drop-in Program for 2SLGBTQIA+ Youth COMET (Come Out & Meet Each Tuesday) is a free after-school drop-in program for 2SLGBTQIA+ youth ages 13-18 in North Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area. Questioning youth and allied friends are also welcome. COMET program activities include arts and crafts, games, cooking, creative workshops, and more. Dinner and snacks are provided at no cost. When? Tuesdays from 3:30pm to 8:30pm. Where? 28 Fairlawn Ave., Toronto, ON West off Yonge St., a 7-minute walk north from Lawrence TTC Station. Participants are invited to use the west accessible main lobby entrance to access the Assembly Hall downstairs. Why? Because every queer and questioning youth needs a fun and safe place to be themself. What is COMET All About? The program provides youth who identify as part of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community a safe and welcoming place to gather, eat a nutritious meal, participate in programming through partner organizations, or just come by to hang out
International Day of Pink 2026: ECHO Tour ~ April 11 @ 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm Fairlawn Avenue United Church is proud to host the only public GTA event celebrating International Day of Pink for the fourth year on Saturday, April 11 at 2:00pm. This year’s Day of Pink ECHO Tour brings together powerful storytellers and activists to reflect on the 25th anniversary of two landmark moments in queer and trans Canadian history – the Supreme Court censorship victory by Little Sisters Book Store and the Modernizations of Benefits and Obligations Act, which recognized same sex couples in federal law. These moments are powerful echoes. Echoes that still resonate in our lives, our rights and our dignity. They remind us that our stories are not silent. They live, they vibrate, they inspire. Join us for our Camp Scugog Sunday worship service as we highlight Camp Scugog, a Fairlawn Embrace Action Fund partner. For more than a century, Camp Scugog has provided outstanding outdoor recreation and education experiences for children, youth, and families.
“Making Sweet Things Happen” for Camp Scugog ~ Camp Scugog Sunday and CraftShack This Sunday, May 3 is Camp Scugog Sunday at Fairlawn! Please come to hear from a first-time camper who went to Camp Scugog last summer thanks to the generosity of Fairlawners just like you! You can also purchase some “sweet things” from the “Making Sweet Things Happen” Baking and Craft Sale during Coffee Hour. There will be delicious baking, Kathryn Cullen’s beautiful cards and hand-made soaps, Derek Wishart's homemade candles as well as some special Mother’s Day Brunch bundles. We invite you to join us Sunday mornings at 10:30am for a meaningful time of worship and community. The service are delivered by Rev. Jean Ward; Rev. Nigel Weaver; Eleanor Daley, Director of Music; and the Fairlawn Senior Choir. After the service, please stay and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee at our Coffee Hour, supported by volunteers from our community of faith, for a welcoming time to connect with friends, greet visitors, and share in meaningful conversation.
