Worship Service ~ Camp Scugog Sunday with Bake Sale & Craft Shack
“Making Sweet Things Happen” for Camp Scugog ~ Camp Scugog Sunday and CraftShack This Sunday, May 3 is Camp Scugog Sunday at Fairlawn! Please come to hear from a first-time camper who went to Camp Scugog last summer thanks to the generosity of Fairlawners just like you! You can also purchase some “sweet things” from the “Making Sweet Things Happen” Baking and Craft Sale during Coffee Hour. There will be delicious baking, Kathryn Cullen’s beautiful cards and hand-made soaps, Derek Wishart's homemade candles as well as some special Mother’s Day Brunch bundles. We invite you to join us Sunday mornings at 10:30am for a meaningful time of worship and community. The service are delivered by Rev. Jean Ward; Rev. Nigel Weaver; Eleanor Daley, Director of Music; and the Fairlawn Senior Choir. After the service, please stay and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee at our Coffee Hour, supported by volunteers from our community of faith, for a welcoming time to connect with friends, greet visitors, and share in meaningful conversation. Fairlawn Senior Choir Practice
The Senior Choir of Fairlawn Avenue United Church is an auditioned group of approximately 35 members, including an 8-member professional core. The Seniors sing every Sunday from September through June at the 10:30 am worship service, and are responsible for an introit, two anthems and all other service music. In order to cover that amount and level of music, often with a minimum of rehearsal time, choristers must have singing experience and excellent music/sight-reading skills. Practice is weekly on Thursday evenings, September through May.
