Conversations Under the Trees with Rev. Jean Ward On Fairlawn’s front lawn in the softness of a summer's afternoon, you are invited to drop by and join conversation. 3:00pm - 4:00pm Thursday, July 30 and Tuesday, August 11 & 25. It is a good place to be together – in the neighbourhood where we find ourselves as a faith community, sheltered by the strength of trees and in the presence of a vibrant city. Let us see where the Spirit leads us as we converse together.
Wednesdays at 7:30pm to 9:00pm, we gather online for Christian Meditation. This group is open to anyone who is interested in Meditation at any level, or are curious. All are welcome. The Senior Choir of Fairlawn Avenue United Church is an auditioned group of approximately 35 members, including an 8-member professional core. The Senior Choir sing every Sunday from September through June at the 10:30 am worship service, and are responsible for an introit, two anthems and all other service music. In order to cover that amount and level of music, often with a minimum of rehearsal time, choristers must have singing experience and excellent music/sight-reading skills. Practice is weekly on Thursday evenings, September 10, 2026 through June 17, 2027.

After the service, please stay and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee at our Coffee Hour, supported by volunteers from our community of faith, for a welcoming time to connect with friends, greet visitors, and share in meaningful conversation. PLEASE NOTE: Due to the weather forecast and out of concern for everyone’s comfort and safety, the BBQ will be held in the Assembly Hall. There has been a significant increase in wasp activity on the front lawn, and with food being served, we want to avoid creating an additional nuisance and, most importantly, help ensure no one gets stung. Join us for a BBQ with hamburgers, hot dogs, salads, drinks & desserts (gluten-free and vegetarian options available) after worship service to reconnect after the summer break. Interested in volunteering to prepare food, set tables or provide a side dish or dessert?
